Elisabeth Rees-Johnstone to Discuss Driving the Skills Agenda to Future Proof Your Organization at Chief Learning Officer Exchange Canada

Elisabeth Rees-Johnstone, executive director of Continuing and Professional Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, will deliver a keynote address entitled “Driving the Skills Agenda: Future Proofing Your Organization” at the Chief Learning Officer Exchange Canada, taking place July 22-24, 2018 at The Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto, Ontario.

The University of Toronto has been the leader in artificial intelligence (AI) research and education for years, specifically in the fields of deep learning, machine learning, and reinforcement learning. And, while advancements in AI technology continue, so does the organization’s research and understanding of the human skills and organizational learning systems required to facilitate the future of work. In her speech, Rees-Johnstone will use evidence-based models to discuss how the “6 Cs” of 21st-century skills: collaboration, critical problem-solving, creativity, communication, character, and global citizenship, are key requirements to future-proof organizations against the constant upheaval of such digital disruptors.

Rees-Johnstone is an experienced education executive and organization development professional who has led numerous and complex business, organization effectiveness and learning development initiatives nationally and internationally, across various industries and sectors (corporate: financial services, pharmaceuticals, retail, hospitality; government: education, health, transportation). In her current role as executive director at OISE, Rees-Johnstone and her team are accountable for determining and servicing the professional learning needs of educators and education organizations, globally. Rees-Johnstone is also the co-founder of The Client Counsel, a Canadian-based organization which enables Fortune 500 and non-government organizations to adapt and integrates their customer experience with their employee experience. Outside of her formal professional activities, Rees-Johnstone supports youth mentor and entrepreneurship programs and is deeply engaged with her doctorate work, focused on talent systems and organization engagement.
